Hi, my name is Grant MacHenry, psychologist and founder of MacHenry Psychology. I'm a kind, caring, compassionate, and empathic psychologist with a genuine passion for helping and empowering people overcome difficult life circumstances and personal challenges through improved mental health and well-being.

In providing a personalised client experience I promote a collaborative approach with my clients to strengthen the therapeutic relationship and enhance client outcomes.​

I have worked in a variety of mental health services over the past 20 years and continually develop my professional knowledge and skills in existing and emerging best practice approaches for psychological assessments and interventions.

 

I have completed the following tertiary qualifications: Master of Professional Psychology, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology, Graduate Diploma in Psychological Science, Bachelor of Arts (Sociology/Anthropology), Graduate Certificate in Social Change and Development...and more​

Client-centred philosophy

Rather than 'treating you as a textbook case', I understand everyone experiences their own unique mental health journey and different life circumstances. Therefore interventions at MacHenry Psychology accommodate and respect your unique differences and circumstances.

The client experience

​I encourage client feedback at every step of the therapeutic process, using a feedback informed treatment approach to regularly check-in with clients about therapeutic progress and, if necessary, make adjustments, where appropriate, to best meet any changes to client progress or needs. 

 

I draw upon a variety of therapeutic modalities to assist clients gain valuable skills and insight whilst instilling a sense of empowerment and confidence in clients, so you can better manage and take control of your mental health and well-being,

not only throughout the therapeutic process,

but also beyond.
